Please also see the General Business category of the wiki.

Retention Rules Per Record Type

The National Housing Federation has published the revised 2013 guide to document retention that gives housing associations “a clear and up-to-date guide on length of time for retention, storage and disposal of documents” – Please see http://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/pub.housing.org.uk/2013_Documentation_Retention_Schedule.pdf

Comprehensive guidance, including on Housing, is available within the Local Government Classification Retention Scheme. Please see http://www.irms.org.uk/resources/lgcrs Please note that IRMS member logon is required to access this resource and that this resource is no longer maintained by IRMS.

There is records retention guidance for English Councils provided by Kent County Council’s Legal Services team in partnership with esd-toolkit. This is structured around the Local government services list and found here http://retention.esd.org.uk/ Please note that subscription is required to access this resource.
